Daniel W. Fink

 

Abstract:

SQL is the language used for all communication with an Oracle database. It is very simple, with a limited number of elements, but it can be very powerful when a little creativity is added. We will examine inline queries, decode/case and scalar subqueries as tools for overcoming the limitations of simple sql.

 

Bio: 

Daniel Fink is a Lead with the Database Services team for Sun Microsystems, specializing in production database administration, tuning, recovery and architecture. He is serving as the Director of Newsletters for the Rocky Mountain Oracle User Group and has been active as a presenter and Program Director for RMOUG'S Annual Training Days. He is also a trainer, mentor and has presented at IOUG-A Live, UKOUG, RMOUG, NYOUG and other user group events.
